The National Service Personnel Association (NSA) has announced a deduction from the February allowance of all National Service personnel across the country.
In a statement issued on March 2, NASPA disclosed that GH₵100 will be deducted from each personnel’s allowance to cover the cost of the National Service Cloth, which has already been distributed nationwide.
In addition to this deduction, personnel enrolled in the SIC insurance scheme will also face further deductions to settle four months of unpaid insurance contributions. NSA stated that this move is necessary to fulfill the contractual obligations of the insurance programme.
The association assured personnel that any further updates regarding the deductions will be communicated in due course.
This development has sparked discussions among service personnel, with many expressing concerns over the deductions, particularly regarding prior notice and consent.
