CalBank PLC has announced the appointment of Mr. Johnson Oware as its new Deputy Managing Director, effective January 20, 2025.
Mr. Oware brings over two decades of experience in banking, with a proven track record across corporate, commercial, and retail operations. As Deputy Managing Director, he will focus on driving the growth and expansion of CalBank’s core business segments, including corporate, commercial, and retail banking.
With a distinguished career spanning multiple countries, Mr. Oware has excelled in roles involving sales growth, digital banking innovation, structured trade, and commodity finance. His expertise extends to credit appraisal, project management, and business development, making him a versatile leader in the financial sector.
Prior to joining CalBank, he served as Head of Corporate Banking at Ecobank Ghana PLC, where he successfully led teams to deliver outstanding results across various business verticals.

Mr. Oware holds a BSc in Administration from the University of Ghana, an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester in the UK, and a Diploma in Public-Private Partnership from the University of Reading in the UK.
