President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to complete the Sewua Hospital by the end of the year, reaffirming his commitment to reviving stalled projects initiated under his previous administration.

Speaking to the clergy in Kumasi on Sunday, President Mahama highlighted the importance of the project, stating, “I’ve assured Otumfuo that we’ll complete the Sewua hospital this year. The completion would allow us to decongest Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital so that important rehabilitation works can continue there.”

He also provided updates on other critical projects, revealing that he has engaged with the managers of Euroget De-Invest S.A, the contractors for the Afari Military Hospital. According to him, the contractors have assured him that they will resume work in earnest to ensure the hospital’s speedy completion.

Additionally, President Mahama noted that with the conclusion of official negotiations with the official creditor committee, Ghana is now in a position to engage in bilateral discussions with lenders. This, he said, would pave the way for the resumption of work on the Kumasi Market Phase 2 project.

The completion of these projects is expected to enhance healthcare delivery and infrastructure development in the Ashanti Region.
