Swedru All Blacks United FC, popularly known as the “Black Magicians,” are enjoying a remarkable season in the Access Bank Division One League Zone Two, positioning themselves as one of the top contenders for promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
At the heart of their impressive campaign is young forward Rudolf Junior Nana Kwesi Mensah, whose standout performances have been instrumental in the club’s success. In his debut season with the team, Mensah has emerged as a prolific goal scorer, netting seven goals in just eight appearances—making him the league’s leading scorer at that stage of the competition.
His influence on the team cannot be overstated, especially considering his brace in the club’s emphatic 4-0 win over Sekondi Eleven Wise—a victory that helped solidify Swedru All Blacks’ place at the top of the Zone Two standings.
Despite growing interest from other clubs both locally and abroad, Mensah has expressed a strong commitment to helping Swedru All Blacks achieve promotion. In an interview with Citi Sports, he emphasized his focus on the task at hand:
“I would love to play in the (Ghana) Premier League as well as play outside Ghana in Europe, but for now, I want to just concentrate on myself and focus on the league that I am in—focus on Swedru All Blacks for now. I would want to win the goal king. I’ll just concentrate and keep on doing my best.”
The Swedru-based club, founded in 1945, is aiming to return to the Ghana Premier League, and the current squad, bolstered by talents like Mensah, appears more determined than ever to make that dream a reality.
With continued dedication, consistent results, and strong individual performances, Swedru All Blacks are not only chasing promotion—they’re reigniting the club’s legacy in Ghanaian football.
