Margaret Ansei, widely known as Magoo, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), effective January 27, 2025. A seasoned public servant and former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum in the Eastern Region, Ms. Ansei brings a wealth of experience in governance and development to her new role.
Her appointment underscores the government’s confidence in her leadership to advance the GEA’s mission of supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Ghana.
As Acting CEO, Margaret Ansei is tasked with driving the agency’s initiatives to empower small businesses through capacity-building programs, innovative support systems, and financial assistance. The GEA’s mandate to promote and develop MSMEs aligns with its goal of stimulating economic growth and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
MSMEs are considered the backbone of Ghana’s economy, contributing significantly to job creation and national development. With her extensive experience in local governance and community development, Ms. Ansei is well-positioned to steer the agency towards fostering entrepreneurship and supporting small business growth nationwide.
Her leadership is expected to bolster the GEA’s efforts in empowering entrepreneurs and enabling Ghana’s MSME sector to thrive in an increasingly competitive global economy.
